Some people get confused when sending an application on what the subject should be.

Its always best to write the Job Title you are applying for as the subject of the email. E.g if it’s a Mechanical Engineering role you are applying for, it should be: Mechanical Engineer

Sometimes when you get lazy to write a robust cover letter. It’s good you have a short format that addresses why you are sending an email. Here is a sample format you can use:

The Hiring Manager,
XYZ Company Limited,

RE: Application for an XYZ Role

I would like to apply for an xyz rolein your organization as advertised on LinkedIn. I have over 5 years experience as requested in the job description and would be a perfect fit.
Please find attached my Resume for your perusal. I am open to discuss more of my skills and the value I would bring to your team during an interview.

This is very short and straight to the point. Its better than sending a blank mail.

Hope this helps ?

N.B: This doesn’t entirely take the place of a cover letter, it’s just for one of those lazy days rather than sending a blank email. For more tips on how to write a cover letter, check out this article
